Divergent Series
These books are set in futuristic dystopia where there society has been split up into 5 factions (Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity, Candor, Erudite). Written by American author Victoria Roth and published by Harper-Collins Children's Books.
Divergent: When the teenagers become of age, they must decide if they would like to stay in the faction they grew up in with there family and friends, or start all over in a completely different faction, cut off entirely from there previous life. They must preform an Aptitude test, which might help them decide. During Tris' test, she tested into every faction, WHICH NEVER HAPPENS! The test administrator knew what Tris was. Divergent. Overriding the system and changing her results to Abnegation, all was well for a while. But instead Beatrice decides to switch from Abnegation, where she has felt excluded and different her entire life, to Dauntless, the most dangerous faction and the faction with the most grueling initiation of all the factions. Throughout the book she has to overcome her fears and try knew things. Divergent have the ability to be conscious while under any kind of simulation. Meaning that they can't be controlled, which is a problem for Jeanine Matthews. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it always left me wanting to read more. |
Insurgent: In the 2nd book of the Divergent Trilogy, Tris and Four (who she know calls Tobias) and many of of there friends and family are fugitives and seek cover with the factionless, after being chased from the Amity headquarters. Surprisingly short after arriving in the factionless part of the city, they discover the Evelyn, Tobias mother is still alive. And she has a plan of her own.
I would definitely recommend this book but not before reading Divergent! |
Night is about a teenage boy who is sent to a variety of different concentration camps with his father. Traveling from camp to camp Elie writes about the events happening in each camp and how horrible it was. This book is very interesting interesting to me because I have always been fascinated with the Holocaust.
I would recommend it to anyone who is at all interested in the Holocaust, it is a very good read. |
